GIGI MIZRAHI began her career as a jewelry designer and over the years has developed as a ceramicist, textile designer, sculptor, and educator, establishing herself as a creator of design pieces. Today, with a very particular perspective and a special style, she explores new horizons through photography and painting. With great prestige and experience, she has more than 30 years of presence in the market. Her works have been exhibited in various states of the Mexican Republic, as well as in the United States, Europe, and China. She is characterized by showcasing in her designs the pride she feels for Mexican and African culture, for nature, and for her travels around the world. She is a faithful admirer of the many contrasts and riches of her country and at the same time an tireless traveler who draws inspiration from everything she discovers. She has taught classes for years with the aim of transmitting and sharing with students her knowledge, doubts, and experience in aesthetic creation.
GIGI MIZRAHI is an artist who has explored various fields and has stood out for her creativity, innovation, and commitment within each of the projects she has been involved in.
“For me, the hallmark of a good piece of jewelry is its ability to accentuate the personality of the wearer, becoming an integral part of the person. I began designing my jewelry with this in mind. I focused on Mexico, on pre-Hispanic designs. Although these symbols are not always associated with jewelry, I chose them for their meaning and beauty, as I believe they express universal and timeless themes. Jewelry not only reveals the different facets of our personality but also connects with the most delicate parts of our body. For this reason, I have been interested in the weight of my pieces. I want them to have a special bond with the person wearing them: not only to be worn but also felt like an embrace.” Gigi Mizrahi is a visual artist residing in Mexico City.
